My FitHealthySoul Avocado Banana Smoothie

I don't know about about you but I LOVE AVOCADO with everything.  I even love avocado in my smoothie.  Here is one of my favorite smoothies to make and drink plus the tastes GREAT!
This Avocado Banana Smoothie is packed with nutrients to give you an extra energy boost! It’s only 3 ingredients with additional options and, like most of my recipes, super simple.

INGREDIENTS

1/4-1/2 cup of Almond/Coconut Milk or water
1 Half of an Avocado (ripe)
1 half of a Banana
1 half scoop Whey Protein (organic) optional
2 Tbsp or to taste Agave Nectar or Honey optional

Instruction:  Place a banana, an avocado (pitted, of course), 1/4-1/3 cup of milk of you choice, whey protein, and Agave or Honey into a blender, then blend. I like my smoothie chilled in the freezer for about 10 minutes before serving. Another option would be to use a frozen banana instead of room temperature.

This smoothie cab be eaten with a spoon if you made your smoothie think or  a straw;  it’s yummy , filling and perfect for an afternoon snack.  ENJOY!

My Journey Becoming an Instructor continued

My journey to become a certified fitness trainercontinues.  Recently, I completed Body Flow and RPM spin by Les Mills.  Body Flow is two-day intensemind/body course that focuses on flexibility and strength with the end goal of feeling calm and centeredI loved taking the course and was excited to attend.

To prepare, I was given two video song tracks for Body Flow to memorize.  I practiced the choreography, transition timing and poses I think I watched the training video a million times to get ready to present.  I even recruited by daughter to quiz me on the poses, transition timing and my coaching style.  The night before my presentation, I set my alarm to awaken at 4:00 am and turned in early to make sure I got a good nights rest.  I slept well but felt very anxious about how I’d perform.

The next morning, I ate oatmeal for breakfast then began the two-hour trek to Mechanicsville, VA.  The drive allowed me to relax, practice and go over my teaching style in my head.  I was the first to arrive at the gym.  Other participants started to trickle in shortly thereafter.  The weekend consisted of two full days of Thai Chi, Yoga, and Pilates.  After a while, very muscle in my body hurt but I stuck with it and did not complain.  I made friends with other instructors, learned how to teach the technique, connected with the participants and have fun!

This was a great experience and I can see thedifference between being a participant in the Body Flow course and becoming an instructor.  The next step -- to be continued.  Stay tuned!
